Clifton Capetown is one of the most up market and trendy area’s in the city. Clifton is known for not one but 4 spectacular beaches, divided by large granite boulders, they are named Clifton 1^st, 2^nd, 3^rd and Clifton 4^th beach. All of the beaches are safe for swimming but the Atlantic Ocean does tend to be a bit chilly, which is why many visitors opt for the second most loved beach activity, tanning, although you will find many other activities, such as volleyball and surfing.

Clifton 4^th beach has all the facilities one needs, including public toilets, changing rooms and places to buy cooldrinks and snacks, while umbrellas and deckchairs are also available to rent. Lifeguards are also on duty during peak season and on the weekends. 

The beaches of Clifton are located down a long flight of steep stairs and during summer it is difficult to find parking along the M6, it is best to either leave your Clifton accommodation early, or catch one of the shuttles that run along these coastlines.
